If you're using a toy made out of porous material

Cleaning your sex toys is important for a lot of reasons. First, it keeps you healthy and happy. If you're using a toy made out of porous material (like jelly), bacteria can grow in the cracks on the surface of the toy and then get into your body during use. That's what gives you infections! Second, cleaning your toys will help them last longer, so they don't become unusable after just a few uses. Plus, clean sex toys just feel better than dirty ones. And who doesn't want to feel better? 1. Wash your hands with warm water and soap. 2. Remove the batteries of vibrating sex toys, or at least unplug them from their chargers. 3. If you have a non-waterproof toy, take it apart completely and wash each piece separately in warm water with mild soap. Be sure to rinse thoroughly between each piece. 4. If you have a waterproof toy, submerge it in clean water and swirl around gently with your hand to get any residue off of the surface of the toy. Do not use soap! Abrasive materials can damage the soft silicone material used to make these toys waterproof—and they're expensive! 5. Pat dry with a clean towel or soft cloth (never use anything abrasive) and reassemble your toy if necessary (or store in its box).
